Tawara Pear

Tawara pear tree was originally produced by Victor Tawara in early 1980 from a graft of a bonsai pear tree.  It produces a sweet, crisp fruit that resembles a cross between an apple and a pear.  It was introduced to and subsequently patented by Bailey Nurseries, Inc. in 2011 for Jim and Jeanne Matsuda of Park Creek Nursery, Inc.  It is marketed nationally by Bailey Nurseries and field grown locally by Park Creek Nursery.
