Tawara Pear

Tawara pear tree was originally produced by Victor Tawara in early 1980 from a graft of a bonsai pear tree. ย It produces a sweet, crisp fruit that resembles a cross between an apple and a pear. ย It was introduced to and subsequently patented by Bailey Nurseries, Inc. in 2011 for Jim and Jeanne Matsuda of Park Creek Nursery, Inc. ย It is marketed nationally by Bailey Nurseries and field grown locally by Park Creek Nursery.
